Essendon Rumour Mill
Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
Saad still hasn't actually met with any one else. We have started sounding out replacements but if I was a betting man I'd lean towards he's staying.

Is this a joke?DC2 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 4:28 pmnever said i expected him to dominate anyone. Just havent seen the signs of what the hype is about. I remember seeing hurley in his debut season as a teenager playing well on tredrea and seeing clear signs that he could be a player for us. Same can be said for others. Just havent seen much to get excited about with BZT, thats all.boncer34 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 8:22 amYou expected the bloke who's just gone 22 to dominate as a one out KPD in our backline with our pathetic mids in front?
Not saying hes a write off by any stretch, just mearly laughing at people continually talking up players because they happen to wear the red and black. people just need to pump the breaks a little with this guy. let him have a stand out game first at least.
Who is hyping him up??
Here’s another example of someone writing off a kid who is just making his way into the AFL atmosphere. Any chance you give the guy a few seasons to find his feet?
He can play. He showed he can in the VFL. He will find his feet at AFL level.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
I believe he has a future. Has shown some quality touches from time to time to suggest he has got some decent talent. To me he really looks like he is still learning his craft and probably lacks a little self belief. He also needs to bulk up in order to match the bigger forwards physically. But in the long run he should be ok.Windy Hille wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 8:33 pmIs this a joke?DC2 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 4:28 pmnever said i expected him to dominate anyone. Carlton??
Kade Simpson and Matthew Kreuzer must have been on some decent coin if Carlton can throw $850k at Williams and $600k at Saad. Two decent half back flankers.
Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
As of Sunday arvo he hadn't met anyone so I'd be amazed if he's met someone twice.

Hearing we’re considering getting Houli back at the club. At 32.

There's a reason why. Join the dots Benny.
Well actually there's 2 reasons and only 1 makes sense.

Get Houli in the hope of keeping Saad.
Or
Get Houli as a replacement for Saad.

I believe it's the first one. In addition to me it's a sign they think we're still close to a premiership.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
I think their is a certain level of talent in this team when all things are equal. Shiel, Merrett, Saad, Smith, Stringer, Parish, Ridley, Mcgrath, Tippa, Hurley.
The problem is how they are being instructed to play. That is the disconnect.
Dont get me wrong our depth is poo due to trades and not drafting correctly.

I think most clubs have a reasonable dozen they can point to though.nomolos wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 2:54 pmI think their is a certain level of talent in this team when all things are equal. Shiel, Merrett, Saad, Smith, Stringer, Parish, Ridley, Mcgrath, Tippa, Hurley.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
Bloke at work is telling me Saad has a 5 year deal at Essendon? Thought I'd see the details here. Maybe it's just a rumour?
Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
How are contract negotiations and offers being conducted when clubs have absolutely no idea what the TPP will be for next season? They don’t even know what the list numbers are going to be.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
It was suggested on Footy Classified that deals must be based on a percentage reduction relevant to the TPP drop.
