BOLTS.
ok goodes had a pretty damaging game for a while, but Bolts did contribute with the ball as well. I think he was serviceable.
MICHAEL.
ok had help with fletcher as a loose man, but really whenever he was one out with Hall, he generally had the better of him.

My thoughts exactly.jimmyc1985 wrote:Bolts started well on Goodes and then Hird made that squibby piece of shit lose his cool and he threw the towel in like the cowardice piece of excrement he is.
Eat it, Goodes.
And Mal, what a game. The beast has finally hit some good form. Has lost a bit of weight and is looking real good.

Another one bites the dust. Think Ryder, being the nice guy that he is, will probably end up bringing a towel to give to his opponents.BenDoolan wrote:Our defenders were brilliant tonight, absolutely brilliant. Don't forget the great job done by Ryder on O'Loughlin. He gave him a bath.
Bolton was very good tonight. Happy for him. Well done.

By Goodes' standards, he got a bath. Don't forget that Bolton kicked two and gave away his third in a low scoring game, too. I thought he was great... Roos had to react moved Goodes to Hird to try and break the Bolton tag and that's when he did his block.tom9779 wrote:Goodes into the middle was what got Sydney back in the second quarter.andrewb wrote:Bolts flogged goodes and mal flogged hall.
That's the first time in years that Hall hasn't destroyed us.
He didn't flog him, but Bolts was more than serviceable.

I just watched the first half and Goodes wasn't what got Sydney back into the game, although he did hit O'Loughlin on the chest (which resulted in a goal) but a couple of very poor umpiring decisions got Sydney back into the game. Lucas should have been given a free for a push in the middle, instead a free went Sydney's way, and the kick (play on to advantage) went straight down Nick Davis' throat about 30 out and bang goal. Another was McVeigh pinged for holding the ball on half forward when he clearly handballed, Stanton came through and soccered off the ground and had 50m paid against him... Schneider kicked a goal from that free from 55m out. 2 goals as a direct result from poor decisions and Sydney are in front at half time.tom9779 wrote:Goodes into the middle was what got Sydney back in the second quarter.andrewb wrote:Bolts flogged goodes and mal flogged hall.

Mal was awesome on Hall, who had kicked 42 goals in his last 8 games against us! God we needed a decent defender to help out FLetcher.
Was Bolts that good? I remember plenty of times Goodes got the ball and Bolton was trailing him by 5 to 10 metres. Maybe there's something about the way Essendon play that stops Goodes from being good against us and it's a coincidence that Bolton plays on him.

Aaron Francis is the Messiah.
would happen from time to time. but bolton had a decent game, goodes was kept pretty quiet.j-mac wrote:Mal was awesome on Hall, who had kicked 42 goals in his last 8 games against us! God we needed a decent defender to help out FLetcher.

Yes i would, we need his size and run against the eagles. It wouldn't be fair on Bolts to drop him after his great game on sat night.KaaN10 wrote:Give bolts another game next week?
IN: Pev, and either Campo, Dyson or perhaps Hislop
OUT: Nash (unlucky) and Houli
Good to see that Jetta and Demps could be back for Bendigo this week!!
