He's sounding a bit Ken Bruce in that interview. Hird would be a good coach if he did a proper apprenticeship though.
Sheedy has gone mad, sheedy has gone mad...
Hirdy shoul take a minimum of a year off and then get back into footy should he feel the need.
There are some tough decisions to make the bombers regarding current players and I dont feel Hirdy could cull any of his team mates.
We need someone new with no prior ties to come in make some tough decisions and set a future direction

He's starting to make as much sense as his new mate Vlad.ealesy wrote:"....but Essendon should still make him senior coach for next year...even if it's only for one year!!!"andrewb wrote:http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/ ... 22,00.html

totally nuts!!!
I think Hird will coach but I wonder if it will ever be at Essendon?
If we go with a new coach this year, and assuming he is successful, the liklihood is that this person will have a stable long term role at Windy Hill - that is the Essendon way I suppose.
As such, should Hird want to come out and coach in the next 3-5 years, maybe it will have to be elsewhere.
